Crushpad Unveils "My Cult Cab" Program
Wine Enthusiasts Can Now Create Their Own Cult Class Wines
San Francisco , CA — April 20, 2005 — Crushpad, a community winery for aspiring winemakers, announces
My Cult Cab, a new program aimed at high-end, luxury Cabernet Sauvignon enthusiasts.
Crushpad has built a strong following among wine enthusiasts that produce their own small lot, ultra-premium wine. Based on the success of its 2004 wines, Crushpad has seen a significant interest from current and prospective customers for a luxury class level custom wine program for Cabernet Sauvignon that is comparable to $100 - $200 retail "cult" Cabernet wines.
For the My Cult Cab program, Crushpad will source fruit only from luxury-class vineyards that have a proven history of producing spectacular, high-end Cabernet Sauvignons, scoring up to 99 points from
The Wine Advocate. During the winemaking process, consulting winemakers will actively provide Cabernet Sauvignon expertise, along with an extra level of attention on each wine. This includes rigorous fruit sorting to remove imperfect berries; extended maceration, if required; superior barrel treatment including 100% new French oak and the use of finishing barrels. Crushpad will complete the process by helping each customer create luxury-class packaging that will complement the wines in the bottle.
"As I become more familiar with the winemaking process, I'm even more driven to make the highest caliber Cabernet Sauvignon that could compete with many of the California cult cabs on the market today," says Crushpad customer David Levine. "My Cult Cab allows me to push the quality curve to the highest end with my own custom-designed cult level Cabernet to share and enjoy with friends, family and colleagues."
Crushpad is conveniently located in San Francisco with full-time winemakers ready to guide interested enophiles through the exciting process of making their own custom wine. My Cult Cabs are made using the same process as other Crushpad wines, with customers having complete control over the definition of their wines. Customers are encouraged to participate as much or as little as they can, including helping decide winemaking's many variables such as varietal, vineyard source, fermentation and aging preferences, as well as style, aroma and flavor characteristics.
Pricing for My Cult Cab starts at $10,000 per barrel ($33 per bottle), compared to $3,900 to $5,900 per barrel for most Crushpad wines. To learn more, visit www.crushpadwine.com or call 415-864-4232.
