I feel like our clients are on a major roll lately. In specific, our Pinot clients have been winning accolades right and left. We’ve had Armanino, 5 Points, Lionheart, Joelle, Fulcrum, Dain and Rockroom all recently score 90+ points for their Pinots in Wine Spectator or Wine Advocate. Plus, we’ve had great showings at the San Francisco Chronicle and Finger Lakes tastings.
Just as impressively, long time clients Tom and Sue Cleary just won the prestigious 7th Annual Pinot Shootout with their 2007 Bohemian Vineyard, Russian River Pinot. Past winners have been the Rochioli Vineyard bottlings by both Gary Farrell and Davis Bynum. They also garnered the highest score ever for a Shootout winner with 96 points.
Congrats to Bohemian Vineyards and Crushpad winemaker Chris Nelson!
Here’s the review:
- Bohemian Vineyard 2007 Freestone Estate Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley, $45.00 - 250 cases produced

(96) Turquoise
Male: This is a real crowd pleaser. Herbs, cherry, a hint of oak, and floral notes on the nose. Rich black cherry flavors with a trace herbs. Soft tannins. Cleansing acids expand and define the palate.
Female: Cranberry on the nose with a touch of lavender. The palate is predominantly red fruit with clove in the finish. Really nice acid. The finish is long and exceedingly appealing. Velvety!
