Some of the best Viognier in California comes from Catie’s Corner Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Our clients have made some memorable ones over the years. The Viogniers from Catie’s Corner always seem to be extremely balanced, floral and real crowd pleasers. Check out this one from Jazz Cellars.

In addition to being our best cooking and best looking client, Tyler Florence makes some pretty damn good zin too! Wine Spectator just picked up on this and gave his 2006 Dry Creek Zin 92 points and a heady review.

Today brought word that a pair of Pinots from Rockroom Wines were received very well by James Laube of the Wine Spectator. The 2006 Hein and 2007 Bohemian bottlings were given 90 and 89 point ratings respectively. Way more interesting than the scores (as usual) were the glowing tasting notes reprinted below. Big congratulations to all of our commerce members entered in the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Although we’re know that many excellent wines are made here at Crushpad each year, it’s always nice to have outside validation. Bill Ward, the wine writer for the Minneapolis Star-Triune posts a nice article on Crushpad customer, Peter Kitchak and his Kitchak Cellars brand. Peter lives in Minnesota but launched and operates his own award-winning Napa wine brand — Double Gold at the SF International Wine Competition — using our Crushpad Commerce service.
