FAQ & ANSWERS

1. How much time does it take from start to finish to make wine? The winemaking process can range between 6-24 months depending on what type of wine you choose to make. For example, Sauvignon blanc is ready to bottle between 6-8 months after harvest, whereas Cabernet Sauvignon or other red Bordeaux varietals will take longer, up to 24 months. We can help you decide which varietal is best for your timeline and personal taste.
2. What different types of wine can I make at Crushpad? Crushpad is a state of the art, commercial winery and we make traditional, grape based wine and offer a variety of red and white varietals for you to select from our vineyard catalog.
3. Do I have to buy the fruit from you, or can I bring my own grapes? Crushpad sources grapes from over 40 of the most highly regarded vineyards in California and Bordeaux. If you are a grapegrower, or would like to source your own fruit, we do Custom Crush as well. There is a 1-ton minimum, which is approximately 60 cases of finished wine.
4. Is there a minimum and maximum amount of wine I can make with Crushpad? Yes, we have a 1-barrel minimum, which is 300 bottles or 25 cases of wine. There is no maximum amount of wine a client can make with us at Crushpad.
5. Do I have to make the wine on my own? Or can I make it as a group? It's your choice. You are welcome to begin your adventure on your own or with your spouse, and many people find the experience is best shared with friends, family or colleagues so they can share the wine, the cost and the fun. We have built technology that makes it easy to update your group on the process, send allocations and coordinate all of your shipping needs.
