So you didn’t get picked for Murphy-Goode’s “A Pretty Goode Job?” Well, if you are intent on getting into the wine business, we’ve got something for you.
Crushpad is now offering three and six month wine business and wine production internships. These internships are perfect for someone wanting to enter the wine industry but find themselves with little or no experience and therefore little or no opportunity.
Because of our unique business model, Crushpad happens to be a great place to learn about many aspects of the wine business. We’re involved in wine production, internet technology, marketing and sales in California and Bordeaux. We have numerous product lines that touch on just about every nook and cranny of the biz. If you put your heart and soul into this, you’ll get what amounts to a wine industry MBA. But you better have someone who can pay the bills, because these are unpaid internships.
The exception is for people that are chosen for the six-month internship. In this program you will spend approximately 25% of your time on your own wine brand. Crushpad will provide a barrel (300 bottles), entrance into Crushpad Commerce, your ecommerce site, and unlimited access to the team that has launched 150 wine brands.
Key projects you will be able to work on:
During the first three months, you will work with every department at Crushpad, primarily in a marketing/business development capacity but you can choose to dedicate more time to technology, finance, design or whatever you want – we’ve got a lot of stuff going on. You will be working on real, mission critical projects and not printing copies or making coffee runs. (Although the right person will have a "no job too small" mentality like all of us here at Crushpad do.)
For the second three months, you can choose to either work full time in the winery for harvest or continue in the business role and do a handful of winery shifts so you’ll gain some real winemaking cred.
We're looking for someone who is…
At the end of this program, you should be a wine industry green belt (3 months) or black belt (6 months), and in an excellent position to determine your next step.
Apply by sending a short letter (no more than 500 words) telling us why this is for you. Attach a copy of your resume. Send to: noah@crushpadwine.com with the subject line: Wine MBA.
Are you insanely smart, passionate about wine and want to help us transform the wine industry into a community-centric industry? Well, we're on the constant lookout for senior and junior level people. Drop us an email... you never know.
