“Crushpad took me from an ordinary wino to a distinguished winemaker in just five years. Where else on Earth could we design silly wine labels with my dear old Mom, a Longhorn steer and a surfing monkey? I'm livin' the dream.”

Review:Some very good berry and mineral character with hints of new wood. Full body, chewy with polished tannins but needs another one to two years to soften. Well-done.

Review:Spice, cola and sassafras are tight, with a pleasant earth, sage and dusty berry edge that builds depth and complexity, with touches of spice and loamy earth. Drink now through 2014.—J.L.

Review:Heavy and oaky in youth, although there are deep, complex flavors of blackberries, black currants, plums and black cherries, complexed with unusual tastes of minerals, graphite and balsam that seem to come from the soil. The wine throws a heavy sediment, and is best considered an ager, although it has no history. Try 2010-2014. - S.H. (12/31/2009) - 91
