The Belly of the Beast

September 30, 2006

This is going to be extremely brief because we're running pretty fast right now. Here are the updates:

Help Us Help You Help Us on Scheduling & Wine Plans
While we've made tremendous progress on our scheduling capabilities this year, we still have a way to go and there are still a handful of folks that have not completed winemaking plans. Also, we switched to a new email service and some of your spam filters are still blocking us. So if you have not heard from us in the past 10 days about a scheduled pick date for your vineyard, please contact Dave Gifford (dave@crushpadwine.com, 415-864-4232) asap.  Also, you can always see the status on Crushnet.

Churchill Club Presentation - Thursday, October 5th
We're honored to be able to present our vision for the future of the wine industry at the Churchill Club next week. I will be giving a presentation entitled Wine 2.0 - The Social Production Revolution. Check out the event at http://www.churchillclub.org/.

Cellar Rat Selects Crushnet for his Pinot 2.0 Project
Alan Baker (AKA The Cellar Rat) is creating the world's first commercial wine in collaboration with consumers. Alan and his "RatCam" head gear are chronicling every step of the process from the vineyard to bottle. Customers who purchase futures can participate in key winemaking decisions and end up with a case of Anderson Valley pinot noir from the Wentzel Vineyard (now officially sold out). Check out his site at www.cellarrat.org or go to www.crushnet.com and search for "Rat Pack" in groups.

Mark Moretti Winery Launches
Crushpad Commerce's latest member to go live is Mark Moretti Winery. By day, Mark is a technology executive. By night, he makes wine. Mark has two wines - a 2004 Napa cab (the first cab that has been sold commercially) and a 2005 Anderson Valley pinot noir. Check him out at www.markmorettiwinery.com.

Last Chance to get in on Harvest 2006
We're just now getting the bulk of our fruit and we still have very limited amounts available from some of the top vineyards. So if you were thinking of making a barrel this year please contact Dave Gifford (dave@crushpadwine.com, 415-864-4232).
