Crushpad offers wine tasting classes on a wide array of topics that are accessible and entertaining for novices or in depth enough for serious collectors. Each class explores a different varietal, region or wine making style; all designed to hone your palate and broaden your wine appreciation. These are much more than simple tastings. During your session, you'll learn to taste from a winemaker's perspective as we explore how winemaking decisions shape the flavors and textures in your glass. We'll also detail wine history, while exploring the influence of climate & geology in defining a wine's style. In the past, these educational opportunities have covered everything from "Red Wine Sensory Evaluation" to an "Examination of Common Wine Flaws" and "Bud Break in the Vineyard".
Whether you are a collector of trophy bottles or a wine-curious novice, sharpen your palate and gain an intimate appreciation for why blending is considered the highest art-form in winemaking with Crushpad’s acclaimed wine blending classes.
During your 2-hour session, the Crushpad team will guide you through the same steps that professionals use to determine what final blend goes into bottle. Your hands-on experience begins by evaluating several base wines for aromatics, flavor and texture. You'll then use this knowledge to create a few of your own unique blends.
Our blending sessions focus on Cabernet and the other Bordeaux varietals using some of the finest vineyard sources from Napa Valley and beyond.
Crushpad's blending activities have received numerous accolades including glowing coverage in Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Forbes, Men's Journal, Time and the Chicago Tribune.

Working a harvest "crush" is incredibly exciting, educational and extremely dirty. Make no mistake... winemaking is anything but glamorous. However, if you don't mind purple fingers, wine-splashed clothing and truly want to learn how top quality wines are produced, this immersive experience will remove the veil to winemaking Oz.
You'll work alongside cellar hands and winemakers on wines currently in production. Learn by doing as you sort, de-stem and crush grapes, punch down fermentation bins, view wines being pressed to barrel and participate in the sensory analysis of different grape varietals. It's the real deal.
CrushCamps offered for a limited time only during the harvest season - see the calendar below for exact dates.
